I know that there are TONS of schools who have already called it quits for the summer, but here in Western Mass we usually are pushing strong until almost the end of June! This year was my twins’ first year in “school,” which really means the toddler room at the preschool they will be attending next year. Even though their 2 day a week adventure wasn’t really “school,” they have grown so much and learned more than I could have imagined. The year before they did a home day care twice a week, and before that we had a home nanny twice a week, so getting out to a structured program with other kids and teachers really feels like the real deal! I really wanted to craft some DIY preschool teacher gifts that I thought they would love over the summer.
My kids at times are a bit to handle. In fact, there are some days where I celebrate as I drop them off and run in the opposite direction. In the toddler room, there are multiple other kids ranging from 15 months to 3 years, and I’m pretty sure it’s my worst nightmare. The patience and care that their amazing teachers show is unbelievable. In fact, I think they deserve more praise than teachers with older kids who know how to listen and behave. For Christmas, I crafted some cute wine glasses and paired it with some cookies & wine. I wanted to do something fun for the end of the year that they could use over the summer. I absolutely love having my silhouette cameo to create custom gifts with!
DIY Preschool Teacher Gifts
Teacher Tote
I’m sure teachers are planning some fun trips over the summer, or even could use a bag to lug their stuff to/from school every day when the school year starts again. I started with tote bags I found at hobby lobby, but you could easily order similar bags from amazon.
I found the most adorable free teacher cut file on one of my favorite vinyl crafting blogs, Silhouette School. I knew that this would make the cutest iron on to my bags. It’s always an added bonus when I can find a cut file I love for free. Check it out here, and explore the site to see all the other amazing tips, freebies, and great instruction books they offer.
My vinyl, I have gotten from a variety of places, but lately I have been loving on Sparkleberry Ink! Why? They have super fast shipping, amazing printed vinyl, great prices, and are always running great tutorials on their facebook page along with free cut files! I decided to go with a purple glitter HTV for this project.
I just love the final product, don’t you?
Water Bottles
I love having reusable cups to put my beverages in, and having them personalized makes it less likely that someone else will confuse it as theirs. I figured it would be great for using in the classroom or on the go over the summer. I ordered a 4 pack on amazon, so I had enough for each teacher and the director (and one for myself, score!). They are clear plastic, bpa free, and are a smaller skinny tumbler, which seems to be a little trendier this year.
I used some pink Oracle 651 vinyl to cut their names in one of my favorite fonts, bhatoshine. You could download any font on free sites like dafont.com or freefonts.com, and load it into your silhouette cameo software to cut out names. I decided to run them up the side of the water bottle with my fun, scripty font.
Gift Cards
I’m always a big fan of gift cards because that means getting a gift you really want. I think gift cards to places where you can buy pretty much anything are perfect because then you know that it will go to good use. I picked up some target gift cards this year, but if you have more than 2 days and don’t want to leave the house, you can get an adorably packaged amazon gift card too!
I hope this helped with a fun idea to gift to your teachers at the end of the year! If you’re looking for a way to keep the kids learning all summer long while you tame them at home, check out my summer book box subscription, or take a look at my top games to play at home with your preschooler! Now, go enjoy the sunshine!

These are great ideas! I literally just picked up some target giftcards for my daughters teachers yesterday. LOL. Today was her last day. I think gift cards are great because they are easy and then the person can go get whatever they want. Great post!

Thanks Melissa! Target gift cards are definitely the best!
