Valentine’s Day is almost here! I’ve always been a bit of a sucker for it. An excuse to dress up in pink glitter, eat candy, and spend time with my hunny was everything I wanted. These days, I spend my time crafting cards, and treats for school parties and cross my fingers that hubby comes home with a big bottle of wine and cupcakes for me after the little monkeys are in bed. Since my kiddos are still in pre-school, they are crazy enough without the sugar, so I like to do non-candy valentines for them to bring to school. Using a few book lady supplies and a quick prime order from Amazon, I created 2 cute valentines day card ideas for you to use! psssst you can even grab the free printable gift tags at the bottom of this post!
Cute Valentines Day Card #1: You’ve Got the WRITE Stuff!
What you need (for ~20 valentines)
- 2 packs of alphabet wipe clean cards
- 1 package of 20+ mini wipe clean markers
- curling ribbon
- free printable gift tags (get them below!)
For the preschool age, learning letters & numbers are an important part of the classroom work. I decided to use wipe clean alphabet cards (you could use numbers or first words too), and pair them with a mini dry erase marker. To do this I bought 2 sets of cards so I would have enough for each kid to get 3 cards. Tie it all up with a cute ribbon, add the tag that you can print for free at the bottom of the post, and you’re done! Educational, fun, and cute valentines day card!
I love this cute little tag I made! Josh claimed these as his valentines to give his classmates.
Cute Valentines Day Card #2: You COLOR My World!
What you need (for ~20 valentines)
- 3 magic painting books
- 1 set of 20+ paintbrushes
- curling ribbon
- free printable gift tag (get them below!)
Creativity, painting, colors are so much fun at any age, but especially to preschoolers as they explore! I decided to make a painting valentine with magic painting pages. If you haven’t seen these in action yet, they are amazing! Use water and a paintbrush to create a watercolor masterpiece! I used 3 magic painting books so that each kid (we have 20 in their class) would get 2 sheets for their valentine. I ordered cheap paint brushes from Amazon, so that each kid would have what they needed to create their art at home.
Rolled up the pages, and tied the paint brush with a ribbon to the pages & attached the tag (below) to the pages. Kayla was so excited to give these to her friends!
I hope you are as excited as I am to pass out these adorable valentines day cards this year! Grab your free printable here to jazz up the sheets, then join my facebook community to show me how they turned out and get other great ideas for activities and projects. Before you know it, Easter will be here too!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
