It’s crunch time to Christmas! Only a few days left to go, and if you’re anything like me you wait until the last minute for stocking stuffers. That means you probably spent your budget on presents and need some cheap (or affordable) options to fill the stockings. My new favorite place to get the stockings filled for less is the dollar store! Check out these 25 Dollar Store stocking stuffers!
Avoid the Drugstore with Dollar Store Stocking Stuffers!
- Magic Towels: My kids love that these come with their favorite characters, and they have so much fun dunking them in water to see them expand!
- Bubbles: It may not be bubble season, but these will come in handy in just a few months or even on a warm winter day!
- Crayons: In my house, crayons are constantly getting broken and tossed. We can always use more so I love to include them as one of my dollar store stocking stuffers.
- Stickers: I keep stickers on hand for busy activities to just stick on plain paper. I love that they have many of the kids’ favorite characters like Disney Princess & Paw Patrol. $1 stocking stuffers like stickers are perfect no candy treats to include!
- Hair ties & clips: My daughter has a unruly mane, so having extra hair ties & clips on hand is essential. Why pay a lot for toddler hair accessories!?
- Candy: I’m totally over spending so much money on expensive candy at the drugstore. My. favorite dollar store find is boxes of Reese’s Pieces.
- Jump rope: Spring will be here before you know it, so may as well tuck one in as a stocking stuffer now!
- Action figures: Paw Patrol, superhero, animals, dinosaurs…. all of these fun plastic figures are the perfect size for stockings! There are also lots of great options to use in sensory bins later on!
- Race cars: small & medium size sets are the perfect dollar store stocking stuffers for the aspiring racer in your life!
- Small notebooks: I like keeping a couple of these on hand for sticker time, or to take on the go for coloring!

- Glow sticks or bracelets: There is something magical to kids about glow sticks. They are perfect for a little run around winter fun, to bring into the bathtub and more!
- Cozy socks: You can never own enough cozy socks. If you’re lucky make you can get some holiday themed ones for your dollar store stocking stuffers!
- Small stuffed animals: Cute little animals, and characters can poke out of the stocking on Christmas morning!
- Puzzles: I love dollar store puzzles! They aren’t super durable, but since they are so cheap you won’t cry when 1 or 2 pieces inevitably go missing!
- Sidewalk chalk: Great for a warm winter day, saving for the spring or even using on an indoor chalkboard!
- Generic play-doh: Since my kids just love to mix all the colors into one big ball, why spend a lot? you can get a 4-6 pack of colors for only $1 stocking stuffers, what a steal!
- Colored pencils: Sometimes my kids prefer to color with pencils, so it’s fun to have a variety on hand. The long skinny shape make them perfect to stuff into a stocking!

- Balloons: My kids are obsessed with mylar balloons. You could tie one to the outside of a stocking, or just get a bag full of regular balloons. Balloons are always a top activity for my kids around the house!
- Painting kits: These fun little kits come with a set of paints, paintbrush & papers to paint! Holiday themed or characters make it a great activity to do for kids!
- Musical instruments: You can pick up a recorder, a mini guitar or other fun little musical instruments to tuck inside your stocking.
- DIY snow globe kit: My kids had a fun time making these DIY snow globe kits we found at our local dollar tree! They would make a fun art project to do over the winter!
